How to find a job after 50?
How to survive without a job at 50 years old?
As a woman in my 50’s and up a little, I have demonstrated my resourcefulness and resilience throughout my life. I’ve become, or maybe I should say we women have become experts at doing things for the first time.
Some have earned degrees, some raised families and earned degrees as well, managed our careers, and traveled alone. Now as we are near the 60s, many of us are facing our greatest challenge.
Yes, and it is
How to survive and thrive without a job?
One option is to start an online business. But, despite a lifetime of experience, many of us lack the confidence to get started. If you are thinking about starting a business in retirement, it is essential, to begin with, your mindset… Mindset! I mean that you will need to think positive, write your goals, write a Plan.
I’m not talking about opening a business, getting stock, sales, no not that old kind of business, I’m talking about online business, affiliate marketing, selling pictures, promoting products, writing ebooks, helping people to do so.
Sure, it’s a lot of work and a lot of hours, but one thing that should not stop you is…
Write a Plan, and choose with your heart!
WHAT IS A BUSINESS PLAN: A business plan is a formal written document containing business goals, the methods on how these goals can be attained, and the time frame within which these goals need to be achieved. It also describes the nature of the business, background information on the organization, the organization’s financial projections, and the strategies it intends to implement to achieve the stated targets. In its entirety, this document serves as a road map that provides direction to the business. (from Wikipedia).
Starting your Plan, it is critical to decide what are your goals, and what is your knowledge?
What would you like to talk about in your Online Business?
Starting a business will influence everything else that you do. Is your goal to make a substantial survival income? Do you just want to bring in a little extra cash to supplement your income? Or, perhaps you want to but, in most cases, it is enough to start by writing your plan around a few key questions:
- What are your goals for the project?
- How will you measure your success?
- What help can I bring to our customers?
- Who are your potential customers?
- Where do they go for information?
- Who are your competitors?
- What do they do, what can you do better?
- What is your product or service and how will you tell people about your product?
- How much money will you need to get off the ground?
- Where can you get practical advice and emotional support?
When starting your online business, I suggest reading and revisit these questions you will be in a much better position than 90% of the people of any age who try to have an online business.
