You are right to ask yourself these questions because they are super important.
1)What is a Virtual Assistant?
A virtual assistant is simply an assistant who works remotely. As technological advancements in the 1990s brought reliable internet to more homes. Businesses realized they didn’t have to bring an employee into the office to get work done, and this led to the first virtual assistants.

2) Is “Virtual Assistant” really for you?
The minimum basis required to become a virtual assistant is to know how to use a computer. Well yes, that’s the basis, it seems obvious but it must be said anyway.
Knowing how to manage a mailbox, use a text editor, and know how to use the Internet are the essentials.
The direct counterpart is also knowing how to speak and write English or French (or the language in which you want to work) perfectly. If you offer services where you speak for your customer, if you answer emails or calls he receives, you must be able to guarantee top-quality service.
After all, it depends on the services you offer, spelling is not essential if you are programming on social media or doing the technical setup.
You don’t have to be a mega-geek, understand everything and know everything, but you do need to be comfortable with basic office tools.
The more you practice, the more you will learn. The more you develop your skills, the more you can develop your services.
3) Virtual Assistant, is there really a market? Can I really make a living with this work?
The market is there! More and more people are starting their own business, more and more “very small businesses”. I don’t have any statistics to give you, but the virtual assistant meets the needs of all these small structures exactly thanks to her flexibility.
Why? They need help, but just a few hours a week or a month, or on an irregular basis. They can’t hire, so they have to hire an independent contractor.
This is from your clients’ point of view. Seen from your side, I don’t know if you have considered other ways to earn your living by working at home or on the road, but most of the solutions that can be found (blog, eCommerce, coaching, MLM) involves a lot of upstream work and especially finding a LOT of unique clients.
While there, as a virtual assistant, on the one hand, you have little initial investment, on the other hand, you only need a handful of clients! Imagine you want to work 30 hours a week, you need 3 clients who take you 10 hours a week or 6 clients who take you 5 hours a week. Imagine, only SIX people who trust you, that’s all you need to find!
4) How much will it cost me?
Like I said just now, the other benefit of being a virtual assistant is really that if you really want to, you can start right now. Everything you need is a computer, a good internet connection, and time. Literally: zero upfront investment is required to get started.
You are going to tell me: “but a website? “, ” visit cards ? “, ” train me? »Bullshit! I was the first to apologize for not going for this or that reason. The truth is, you don’t need anything except to be clear-headed!
