How does Adsterra work?

This Network offers cost per action (CPA), cost per click (CPC), and cost per view(CPV) advertising options. That way publishers can get paid in pretty much any way they want.

Here’s what Adsterra has:

  • Publishers must have at least 5000 impressions per month to be able to use pop-unders.
  • Publishers must have at least 50 000 impressions per month to be able to use display banners.
  • They don’t allow publishers to be in an adult or illegal content niche.
The network is valuable! Because it means you can decide which type of ads to based on your traffic and your typical use patterns.  If you have a highly engaged audience that clicks links and ads, CPC or CPA ads can be much better.  Then if your audience is larger but less engaged, you can still monetize them well with CPM ads.
To boil it down, CPM is the amount advertisers pay to publishers for every thousand impressions an ad generates…
To calculate the cost-per-thousand views. Take the total number of impressions and divide by 1,000. Then divide the campaign budget by that number and you have your CPM

Referral Program

Adsterra has a referral program. A program that offers 5% of the revenue generated by the publishers you referred for a lifetime. (as long as the publisher remains online, of course). You can attract referrals to them via blogging. Via social networks, text links, and other options.

Final Thoughts – What is Adsterra about?

We recommend using Adsterra in conjunction with one other network (like media-net, google Adsense, VigLink, etc…)

People said to use Adsterra for their pop-unders. We prefer to put the code they send you to put on your website (body or widget).
Your site will be able to only sell advertising products at premium rates. You can drop other ad networks entirely but until then!  Adsterra is a pretty good option. Right now on this site, we have Adsterra, VigLink, and media-net.

  1. Adsterra is perhaps one of my favorite AD networks ever, and there’s a reason for that.

I made my first $1000 with their help and kickstarted my journey to become the affiliate I am today.

I highly recommend it. It is undoubtedly the number one network if you’re considering popunders, but I also advise you not to sleep and try out the other ad formats as well.

Thanks for sharing this review, Lyne. I’m sure a ton of people will benefit from it.

As always, stay safe and know that I wish you the best of luck!

    1. Hello Gorjan, I’m happy that you think that it’s a great PPC advertiser, but to be able to have popunders you need to have an audience of 1k before they authorise popunders. Thank you for your comment I appreciate it

  2. Lyne,

I’ve never heard of Adsterra. Do you have to have a lot of traffic period to have them display ads on your site? I’m still pretty new and I don’t think I get more than 100 visitors to my site right now per month.

    1. Hi Katrina, no you can apply right away you’ll have the choice of one or 2 ads and it works, but for the popunder “pup-up” they ask that you have at least 1k followers, but you can apply at the beginning of your website
      Thank you for your comment

  3. Adsterra looks like a good way to monetize your website. I am currently using Google Adsense and although it looks good and I like it, I am not happy with their payment options. Recently they sent me an email telling me that I can only get paid for all the clicked ads if I type in a pin they are supposed to have sent me. I have never received an email with said pin, so if this doesn’t get resolved soon, I think I am going to get Adsterra.

  4. Adsterra looks like a legit option. I don’t have a lot of traffic though. I am afraid that if I place ads, the fiew visitors I have will get distracted. Should I use Adsterra now or should I wait to gain more popularity?

    1. Hi Delyana, Of course, it is up to you to see if you want to put it on your site but Adsterra accepted small business without traffic before you need to have 1k or 5k to have Adsterra but not to help small business they change their policy. When you gain more and more traffic you can change it to popunders and they pay more for popunders. It’s a network similar to Google AdSense,
      Thank you
